Original Item: Only One Available. If only we had the rest of this one! Found in the old Palace of Lagan Silikanna Nepal in 2003, this is all that remains of a spectacular big game rifle of the 18th century. Octagonal sided measuring 32″ in length and featuring a massive very heavily rifled 1″ bore.
The back sight still in place the back end of the barrel has a quality inlaid “touch mark” of “BASS, LONDON” who is recorded as working from 1770 to 1780 when the name changed to TWIGG & BASS. The touchhole is gold lined. Included is the fore stock broken off at the front of the trigger guard.
A very scarce big bore rifled barrel from before 1780 from a spectacular gun. Offered just as found, uncleaned with dirt, rust and grime still in place for someone to restore into the weapon it once was. A rare item and wonderful DIY project!
