Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fine original, almost certainly German, seventeenth century gunpowder flask the body of which is STAG HORN.
Featuring all iron mounts the spout doubles as the load measurer in that there are sprung loaded gates to seal the powder chamber to ensure a predetermined charge is used in the musket.
There are four suspension rings to accommodate leather carry thongs and the arms of the antler are capped with iron caps.
Used with Matchlocks, Wheellocks and Flintlocks this is quite traditional, old and now becoming scarce, offered in excellent condition for what we estimate to be between 275 and 350 years of age.
