New Made Item: Chain mail goes way back, way, way back. Some authorities think it may have been introduced by the Gauls, but it is uncertain. The Romans got it from the Gauls and used it very extensively. Examples of it were used as late as the First World War, hanging from a helmet or from a pair of goggles to protect the crews of tanks from spall fragments. It reached its most widespread use during the Middle Ages, and provided a good defense against blade weapons.
It was usually used as a two-part set, a long mail ?shirt? and a headpiece called a ?coif.? I.M.A has found a few mail coifs in its warehouse and is offering them on clearance.
