Original Items: Only One Pair Available. This is an excellent condition pair of German World War Two 1940 Pattern Luftwaffe Airman’s Flying Boots, which do not appear to have been used for any substantial amount of time. The construction is of black leather for the shoe area and black suede for the shafts. Electrical elements are enclosed in the boot with the standard Luftwaffe “male” press-stud connectors at the top. These would snap onto the matching “female” connectors on the flying suit or trousers.
These 24 volt electrically heated boots are the same pattern as the standard single zip flying boot but feature a heating element in the foot section. These are of later-war type construction, the suede upper panels being of generally even color and the buckles and zips zinc plated steel. Later issued boots would feature an increased number of panels and plastic zips.
Each boot has two labels, probably one for the boot itself, and one for the electronics. The fabric electronics labels at the front are clear, indicating a model Psl. 4004 E, 24 Volt 11 Watt electronics, production No. 51219. Both bear three letter code drz for Eltron, Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Theodor Stiebel, located in Berlin-Tempelhof. The leather maker labels have faded markings on them, and wear has made them very hard to read. One side however is still relatively legible, and is marked 2945 1 44, which we believe indicates a size 29cm, and production in 1944. We can make out the same date on the other boot, and under these markings on both are faint RBNr. National Business number markings.
The original ZIPP zippers are in excellent condition. The snaps and buckles are excellent and perfectly functional. The fleece lining is fantastic as are the soles. Black rubber soles feature a Coat of Arms logo over ORIGINAL WILOP. There is little to no wear on the bottom of the rubber soles.
Perfect to complement any heated flight suit, or a great piece on their own. Ready to display!
