Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice genuine steel construction M34 Civic “Square Dip” Third Reich helmet, outfitted for German WW2 Schutzpolizei (Protection Police) issue. It features genuine double decals of Civic Police Reichsadler (National Eagle) and NSDAP swas. These helmets were used by both the regular protection police, as well as the fire protection police. This example has the holes the mounting of the aluminum comb, but we see no evidence that one was ever installed.
The helmet comes with a complete leather liner attached with cork spacers, with all four attachment pins/rivets present. The leather liner is in very good shape, with the correct style fingers and ventilated brow area, though the original top tie is missing. The padded leather top pad is still present, and in good condition. The liner still has 3 of 5 original tabs for attachment of a leather neck skirt, and the chinstrap is intact, however the longer portion has been repaired by grafting in replacement leather.
The exterior of this German helmet retains almost all of the original black paint, with some small chips and scratches, and overall wear and speckling. There are also a few dents on the upper left side of the helmet. The NSDAP and civic eagle decals are both very well retained, with light overall wear and yellowing due to age. They still have a lovely look consistent with the age of this helmet.
Overall a great opportunity to get a very nice of a German WWII Civic Police helmet. Ready to display!
