Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent condition WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß), with a named black leather belt. The buckle is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle on a pebbled central field, surrounded by a wreath. The buckle is of 1940 pattern, die stamped, steel construction, with a dark blue/grey painted finish, which is still present on over 95% of the buckle, inside and out. There is just a tiny bit of wear and oxidation in areas. We can see a VERY faint RZM M4/ marking by the attachment, however we cannot see the second number, which may begin with another “4”.
The belt itself measures about 35” when fully extended, and is in very good condition, showing moderate wear to the exterior, with the leather still supple.. It still has the leather tab with a double row of 7 holes for attaching the buckle and size adjustment, and a steel attachment clip on the other end. There is a stamped 85 on the buckle end, for 85cm (33.4in.), and also maker identifier RB-Nr. 0/0462/0010. It is also named on the adjustment tab to O.-Gefr. Helmut Grissel, a great avenue for future research!
Overall a very nice example of a wartime issue named Luftwaffe Belt with a fantastic Buckle. Ready to display!
