Original Item: Only One Available. This example was produced by Paul Weyersberg & Co. of Solingen, who were one of the major producers of this knife during WWII. The company “Sword-and-Wreath” logo is engraved into the blade, as well as ROSTFREI (rust free) indicating stainless steel construction.
This example has fine, stainless steel components. There is a number 56 stamped on the underside and side of the blade release, and also a waffen eagle on the base of the marlin spike. The knife is fully functional, with all parts intact and no springs broken. The blade release functions properly, and the marlin spike locks into place.
The blade of this knife is in extremely choice condition. It retains much of the original crossgrain and is still sharp. The blade does not appear to have been sharpened after the factory.
The grip plates are of walnut with the standard four retaining rivets. These plates are in very good condition throughout, with some nice curl to the wood grain on both sides.
A great condition Luftwaffe Gravity Knife from the storied “City of Blades”!
