Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß), with a nice 1939 date. It is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle. Nice aluminum construction box buckle with a pebbled background. The buckle is in very good condition, with most of the pebbling in good condition, and most of the detail in the eagle present. There is some overall wear, especially on the wreath, but it is still a great example of a service worn buckle. The softer Aluminum wears faster than other materials.
The buckle itself is stamped with manufacturer initials and date on the inside. Unfortunately it is partially worn and we can only read the date, 39. This is confirmed by the markings on the leather tab:
AD BAUMEISTER
1939
LÜDENSCHEID
The opposite side of the tab is unit marked with L/Flak R.25, for Luftwaffe Flack Regiment 25. We have not been able to locate any operational history for this regiment, making this a wonderful research candidate!
The leather tab is worn with some deterioration, however it is still solid with all stitching intact. Overall a great example of a hard to find WWII German Belt Buckle.
Comes ready for research and display!
