Original Item: Only One Available. This is an very nice condition German WWII Luftwaffe Flieger Kopfhaube (Aviator Helmet/Hood), model LKp W101, complete with some very nice pilot’s goggles. This is a helmet for winter, as indicated by the W. It is made of leather, with a very nice shearling lining, which has a chamois backed forehead area and neck straps. It even comes with original installed LN26602 headphones, though unfortunately the wiring for them has been removed.
The helmet still has a clear original manufacturers tag on the interior rear:
FL. Kopfhaube Gr. 57
Baumuster LKp W101
Gerät – Nr 124-436 A
Werk – Nr SAM
Anf. Z Ln 26618
Hersteller
Siemens – Apparate u.
Maschinen G.m.b.H.
Condition is very good, with the expected wear from service. There is definitely sweat and oil staining on the interior, on both the chamois and shearling. Both chin straps are still intact, as are both buckles.
The included goggles are French WWII Era “AIROPTIC” brand goggles, as marked on the bottom of the right side. This company was located in PUTEAUX – FRANCE, just west of Paris, which was in the German Occupation Zone during WWII. French optics were quite well regarded, so companies were pressed into service supplying Germany during the occupation. The goggles are in good shape, and show use like the helmet. They are clear tint, and have chamois backed foam rubber gaskets. The elastic securing straps still have a good amount of “stretch” to them.
This really is a nice medium size (57cm) example of a German WWII Flying helmet, complete with headphones and goggles. We don’t expect to find another like this any time soon. Ready to add to your collection!
