Original Item: One-of-a-kind-set. This massive album begins before the start of WWII and is the keep sake of the “Family Klier”. The opening pages appear to begin around 1934-195 and show images of vacations in the Alps most of the photos in opening 10 pages have hand written captions.
Then the album moves to the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games for a few pages then to the Deutsches Turn- und Sportfest 1938 in Breslau. Theses pages show soccer, gymnastics (outdoor) and various other events and celebrations. The Deutsches Turn- und Sportfest was a highly political event, attended by many high-ranking NSDAP officials. The event was presided over by Reichssportführer (NSRL leader) Hans von Tschammer und Osten and the patron of the festival, Reich minister of the interior Wilhelm Frick. Adolf AH and other high-ranking personalities of the Third Reich attended the inaugural venue of the games. During this occasion AH gave a speech from the balcony of Hotel Monopol in Breslau.
It is on the final page of this section that a previously unknown photo of Adolf AH giving the NSDAP straight arm salute to the crowd can be found. This photo was taken from approximately 30 feet way from AH and shows him in full uniform atop the balcony of the hotel surrounded by top German officers and officials.
The album continues for another 20+ pages with hundreds of photos all secured with original photo corners, onion skin page separators still intact. This section is wartime and features loads of solders, officers, equipment and more.
Finally, there are 4 postcards with stamps and postage all addressed to various members of the Kleir family.
Overall, a wonderful photo album beginning in the prewar years and ending at what appears to be the height of WWII.
