Original German WWII Karabiner 98 kurz K98k Leather Sling with Keeper and Frog – Kar98k Original Items

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition, totally genuine World War Two German issue leather sling for the Mauser Karabiner 98 Kurz (k98k). It is hand sewn, with steel hardware, and made of quality leather which is lighter in color than we normally see.  The sling will also work for G/K43 and MP43/44.
 
This is a very nice solid example that retains its steel buckle (Klemmstück), with the leather guard fully intact, and a great worn finish. The buckle pin (Klemmwaltze) is in good condition, and is the later war type with peened ends not ground smooth. The inside of the buckle has the correct textured surface for a more secure length adjustment. There is no maker mark on the buckle, however it is completely correct in style and form. The sling end frog (frosch) is correct and made from leather covered steel. The sliding keeper loop is present, which is often lost over the years.
 
The leather does have age, but is a very solid example. Overall very good condition, ready to upgrade an original Karabiner 98 kurz rifle. Genuine wartime slings are nearly impossible to find in serviceable condition, don’t let this one pass you by!

Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98 kurz, often abbreviated Karabiner 98k, Kar98k or K98k and also sometimes incorrectly referred to as a K98 (a K98 is a Polish carbine and copy of the Kar98a), is a bolt-action rifle chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge. It was adopted on 21 June 1935 as the standard service rifle by the German Wehrmacht. It was one of the final developments in the long line of Mauser military rifles.
 
Although supplemented by semi-automatic and fully automatic rifles during World War II, the Karabiner 98k remained the primary German service rifle until the end of the war in 1945. Millions were captured by the Soviets at the conclusion of World War II and were widely distributed as military aid. The Karabiner 98k therefore continues to appear in conflicts across the world as they are taken out of storage during times of strife.
