Original Item: Only One Available. This HJ Armband is in lovely unissued condition, showing only wear and some age toning from long storage. There is also an area on the back where tape may have been attached long ago for display. There are no holes indicating that it was ever installed on a uniform. It measures approximately 16 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, and is sewn together at the ends.
The band is red with a white center stripe that is machine stitched seamlessly onto it. There is also a stitched on HJ diamond with a machine embroidered swas (Hook Cross). The stitching and fabric are all sound, with the tape stain being the only issue.
The inner side still features the original RZM tag which does show light fading and creasing, but no tears. The tag has a correct B tax code and features the RZM logo on the left as well as the HJ logo on the right. It bears the ink stamped numerical designation of the Hersteller (manufacturer) A4 802, over lot No 183577.
A lovely unissued HJ Armband with an original RZM tag, with just a bit of staining from storage. Ready to display!
The German Youth Organization, and often abbreviated as HJ in German, was the youth organization of the NSDAP Party in Germany. Its origins dated back to 1922 and it received the name HJ, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend (“HJ, League of German Worker Youth”) in July 1926. From 1933 until 1945, it was the sole official youth organization in Germany and was partially a paramilitary organization; it was composed of the HJ proper for male youths aged 14 to 18, the German Youngsters in the HJ (Deutsches Jungvolk in der HJ or “DJ”, also “DJV”) for younger boys aged 10 to 14, and the League of German Girls (Bund Deutsche Mädel or “BDM”).
